“Be the change that you wish to see in the world.”
Behnaz has always had a great passion to work with children and their families. She sees every child as a gift and always enjoys her time being with children as she believes these little buddies have a lot to teach us.
Behnaz studied Child Development at Central Piedmont Community College, in the USA. Then, she started her career in early childhood Education as a supervisor in one of the orphanages in Iran. This was a good opportunity for her to invest her time and energy in facilitating an enriched learning environment for orphan children and help them reach their full potential. Through this experience, Behnaz learned the importance of the supportive environment and a good teacher-children relationship in children’s development. Behnaz has her own unique and creative ways to connect with every child.
When Behnaz moved to Canada, she decided to deepen her knowledge by studying early childhood education, at Capilano University. She has a particular interest in the Reggio Emilia approach. In addition, Behnaz has always been eager to help immigrant families and their children. To fulfill this passion, she has volunteered at multicultural society as a workshop facilitator and translator and at Capilano University as a mentor supporting international students.
Behnaz believes that it is very important for Early Childhood Educators to respect children’s unique backgrounds by acknowledging each child’s cultural and family values.
