KEY Education’s Spring into Private School Prep will provide the guidance your child needs to gain all the skills necessary for admission to their school of choice. During our programs, students will receive coaching based on a personalized learning plan developed to meet their needs.

Program Overview

Prior to beginning the Spring session, each student will receive a comprehensive intake assessment and, based on those results, your scholar will be placed in a program that will set them on a path to success. Scholars who need extra help with English and their core 6 C skills will be enrolled in KEY’s Immersive English and Unlock Your Soft Skills Program to prepare them for KEY’s challenging SSAT programsassa

Immersive English Beginner

This course is designed to introduce your child to the basic skills of syntax and sentence structure of the English language. Soft Skill

Unlock Your Soft Skills (Beginner)

This Unlock Your Soft Skills (UYSS) course is designed to introduce methodology for effective communication, public speaking, and the critical thinking skills necessary to be successful students, not only in their classes but also in the private school admission process. Engaging activities, such as word games, team building tasks and analytical written and oral exercises, will challenge learners to push themselves beyond expectations of the classroom. Upon successful completion of UYSS, students will have developed the confidence and self-reliance to further their educational goals.

English Proficiency

Immersive English - Intermediate

This course is designed to advance your child’s reading, writing, listening and speaking competencies in English. Instruction is paired with activities to develop students’ skills in grammar, vocabulary, paragraph structure, and story writing. Improving in English is a necessary step to succeed in all areas of academia.

Creative Writing

In this course, our instructors, who are working professional writers, guide students in developing techniques for organising, writing, and editing their work. Students will tap into their creative centre, focus their ideas, and learn simple literary tools to better express themselves. Your child will also study the basic tools of writing: grammar, punctuation, and vocabulary. They will also study story structure and literary analysis through the inclusion of a novel study. Your child will come away from this course with an introduction to a wide range of writing and reading comprehension tools that will allow them to achieve higher levels in the classroom, better understand literature, strengthen their ability to communicate, and develop a stronger understanding of written English.

KEY’s Junior Scholar Program is comprised of the most sought after courses to prepare your child for private school admissions. Academics

SSAT

KEY’s unique pedagogy divides the four components of the SSAT (reading comprehension, verbal reasoning, writing, and quantitative) into two courses. The Quantitative and Writing Skills course helps students improve their ability to solve problems, build cohesive story structures, and develop creative solutions. The Reading Comprehension and Verbal Skills course is designed to help students understand the core messages in written pieces, infer information, and grow their vocabulary. Students will be given an SSAT test to determine the course or courses that will be the most effective for their development.
